Created for Sunny Dayz Mural Festival, this mural pays homage to the Indigenous peoples and native ecology of Oklahoma. Included are Oklahoma's state mammal, the bison; the state bird, the scissor-tailed flycatcher; and the uniquely endemic osage orange. The osage orange tree is named for the Osage People, who were the first peoples to settle the modern-day Tulsa area, and who continue to reside there today. The title of this piece, "Back to the Land!" is adapted from the Oklahoma state motto.
